The Carolina Winter Music Festival

Welcome to the 2nd Annual
Carolina Winter Music Festival

FromDecember to February we want to help you chase away the winter blues with six exciting and unique concerts. As always, our concerts are designed to give you a wide variety of musicalexperiences, presented in venues where the atmosphere is up close and personal, creating a special connection between audience and musicians.

In December we kick off the Festival at OldSalem with Swingle Bells, our popular jazzy holiday program, with vocalist Martha Bassett, the Giannini Brass and the Jazzmas Trio. This is followed by a concert enjoyed by children of all ages, our annual Old Salem performances of Peter and the Wolf, narrated by actress Lesley Hunt.

We start the New Year with Class Brass at Knollwood Baptist Church, featuring an all-star brass ensemble, performing music spanning three centuries with organist Lauren Winkelman.

In February we present an intimate dinner concert in the cozy living room at Graylyn Conference Center. Our children’s concert “Brass Under the Big Top”, is a comic romp featuring the Giannini Brass and Big Apple Circus performer Dikki Ellis. And finally, Forecast Music will feature music written by Brooklyn composers from Copland to the present day, in conjunction with Reynolda House Museum’s exhibitfrom the Brooklyn Museum.

We know that there are a lot options for entertainment in the Triad, and we appreciate the support we get from our audiences. Remember, we are only able to bring these world-class musicians to you with a little help from our friends. Please consider donating to CCSP to help ensure our programming. We could not do it without you!
