|The Carolina Summer Music Festival 2011
Welcome to the 2011 Carolina Summer Music Festival!
We invite you to join us for the fourth Carolina Summer MusicFestival, with seven varied and engaging programs in Winston-Salem from August 14-27. More than twenty Triad artists will perform inintimate chamber music and jazz settings at locations such as Old Salem, the Reynolda House Museum of American Art, and Krankies at the Werehouse.
This year we celebrate two great American composers with a jazz tribute day to Duke Ellington and a 75th birthday concert for Steve Reich featuring his “Different Trains”. We also pay homage to the beauty of Reynolda House with music connected to its history and return to the Kuhn Studio for solo and chamber music of Johann Sebastian Bach. And for dance-lovers, we feature a dinner concert of big band music performed by the Festival Brass and our finale concert of Viennese waltzes in beautiful salon arrangements by composers such as Arnold Schoenberg.
Please join us for these exciting concerts. Tickets will go on sale July 1 and we expect many concerts to sell out, so don’t delay in reserving your seats.
See you in August!
